My French Ribbon Flowers include designs made with French ombre, silk and vintage ribbons from my collection.

Start on one side of the ribbon; running stitch along one edge & gathered like a draw-string. Coiled around itself & secured with stitches. Fast, easy, fun!
Embellish the center with another flower, or beads/buttons, feathers, etc.

Sold Sept 24th, 2011 @ The Burlap Harlot Show - Anderson, California.
I was thrilled when the woman who bought this flower returned to this season’s show; wearing it on her hat! It was the ultimate compliment!
My friend Destiny Rose, showing off a be-ribboned headdress I made for the Burlap Harlot Show.
I’m guessing overall there is about 35 yards of ribbon on this ONE piece; it took about a month-and-a-half of sewing every day to finish.

My favorite drool-worthy source for antique Victorian ribbonwork pieces! I wish I were rich, because I’d LOVE to own all those really perfect, expensive little pieces from 1910. They are still pristine after 101 years!
